OK, I've decided it's time to tell you all the Big Crazy News that has made me a terrible blogger/correspondent/punctual or awake human being for the last few months.  Remember my "excellent and fascinating reason" for skipping a blog post about a month ago?  Well, the Moment of Revelation Has Arrived!  I know!  So exciting!  Are you all sitting down?  Except maybe the 75% of you who already know this news because you've seen me in person lately and it's, hello, kind of obvious, Tui?

It's here!  It's here!  Shiny new book!  Hooray!

Only one more week until my shiny new vampire book is available everywhere!  Hooray!  Ridiculously excited = me!

And for this book, I get to do a faintly alarming yet also thrilling marketing-type thing, namely: a PODCAST!  WOOT!  Yes, lovely HarperTeen people have sent me a hilarious little alien-looking recorder thingie which I am supposed to talk into for like half an hour, presumably about me, the book, dreamy vampires, etc.

I love the fall, don't you?  I love it when it starts to get cooler (but isn't freezing yet) and the leaves start to change and it feels like I should be going back to school (I still want to buy new notebooks every year around this time). 

I'm very sorry I didn't post a blog last week; I swear I had an excellent and fascinating reason, which I'll talk about in a later blog (whee!  it's like foreshadowing!  see, I have learned something from TV!).  ;-)

I have a new book out today!

Or to be more precise, I have two pages in a new book out today!  :-)

It is STILL TOO HOT!  I don't approve!  Bleyech.  On the plus side, at least I don't live in 1963, because from what I can tell from watching Mad Men, that would be horrible.  Well, maybe the fashions would be fun, but otherwise: oppressive and dreadful!  (For instance, poor Sal!)  Much more fun to watch from a distance instead.  :-)

August is a silly month: too hot, too much traveling, hardly any decent TV on (now that So You Think You Can Dance is over...although at least Mad Men will be back in just a few days!  Yippee!).  Luckily it includes the birthdays of many of my favorite people to make it all worthwhile.  :-)

I spent the weekend traveling to faraway places for a fantabulous wedding (yay wedding!  YAWN AIRPLANES!), which is why Sunshine's blog didn't go up yesterday.  (She has many superpowers, including barking at invisible people, but typing up her own blog isn't one of them...yet!).  So I'm hoping to post that on Friday instead! 

And it's also why this blog is short-short-short this week, BUT I am leaving you with something VERY LONG to read, if you have a few hours and feel so inclined:  :-)

I am EXTREMELY RELIEVED to report that Seekers Book Five is finished and turned in (whoopee!), so I can be a real person again.  (At least until the editorial notes come back and I have to revise it.)

Hello lovely people!

I am DROWNING in the manuscript for Seekers Book Five right now, as it is due IMMEDIATELY and I still have a couple more chapters to go (<-- being deliberately vague so as not to give my editors heart attacks).  But hey, it's only midnight.  There's AGES of writing time left before I have to go to bed.  Right?  ;-)
