Pet Trouble Covers and First Dog Thoughts

Oh.  My.  Goodness.

I wanted to post something deep and meaningful about watching history happen and the rise of hope and how happy everyone suddenly is and what enormous relief and joy I felt after Tuesday night, but I think all the most beautiful words have already been used (half of them in Grant Park) and I'm too thrilled and smiley and heart-fixed to say it all the right way anyway.  :-)

VOTE VOTE VOTE VOTE VOTE!!!!!

Hi all!

OMG IT'S FINALLY TIME TO VOTE!!!

I'm posting early this week, because on Tuesday night, when I normally write my blog, I'm pretty sure I'll be hiding under a blanket on our couch, wracked with hope and fear and faith and anxiety and wishing and general EXTREME FREAKING-OUT-NESS while the endless television yimmer-yammer makes my head explode.

How am I making it through until this election is finally over?

Monkeys in Famous Old Places

Hi all!

I realized something else I forgot to tell you before: I was interviewed for my college alumni magazine!  :-)  Even if you didn't go to Williams, you should be able to read the article here; just scroll down to the third page.  And there I am!  Whee!  It's such a nice article, and she didn't quote any of the really dopey things I said, which I appreciate.  Thank you, Denise!  Hooray!

OMG! There is Stuff in India Besides the Taj Mahal!

Hello hello!

Hey, I forgot to tell you guys: Avatars 3 got a starred review in Kliatt!  WOO HOO!  Best book review magazine ever.  :-)  They said (among other things):

Now I Need a New #1 Famous Thing I Want to See in My Life That I Haven't Seen Yet

I'm thinking Great Wall of China; what do you think?

Hello hello!  Happy anniversary to me!  (oh yeah, and to Adam!)  ;-)  Yay!  Anniversary!  Yay being married!  Particularly to Adam!  Yay!  :-)

India! India! India! (and Nepal!)

We're back!  Well, sort of.  :-)  I'm still not exactly home enough to write a whole blog, but at least I can post some pictures!  Hooray!

Four Million Bazillion Angkor Wat Photos! (approximately)

Hi hi hi!!  :-)

Countdown to India!  I'm so excited!  Especially because I have now turned in the last manuscript I needed to finish before I left (WOOOOO!) and therefore I only have, you know, about a hundred other things to do, but none of them involve creating 200 pages of story out of thin air, so all is splendiferous.

The Awesomeness of Wands and Worlds

Hi all!

I'm in the middle of bananas deadline madness over here (must finish EVERYTHING before I leave for India!) so instead of a full blog, I'm going to give you a really thrilling link instead:

Swimmer, Pilot, Astronaut, Spy: Why I Am None of These Things

I think it is perfectly silly how, once every two years, for about two weeks, I suddenly find sports all riveting.  But at least I'm not the only one, right? :-)  I guess I'm not surprised by my interest in the gymnastics and ice skating, but it does startle me when I get all woooo snowboarding or yippee trampoline (seriously: best sport ever).  And then all of a sudden this year it's all about the swimming.  The SWIMMING!

It's Raining Cats and Dogs and Monsters

Hi everyone!  Sorry for the late blog this week; I finished a manuscript yesterday and my brain had to turn off for a day.  But woo hoo!  Time for vampires and bulldogs!  :-)

And also playing with my thrilling birthday presents, such as for instance:
