Impending Library Talk! And also...On To Cambodia!

Man, I know it's blog day, but y'all, I'm working on SEEKERS BOOK THREE!  Don't you want more bears even more than you want more pictures of Sunshine?  ;-)  Maybe think carefully before you answer that question.

Sunshine Is Quite Glad Her Sidekick Is Not A Dinosaur

Maybe if I lived in a House Like That, I too might write some Classic American Literature

OK, first of all, what...what...WHAT is this adorableness?!:

Confessions of a Bookworm (Disguised as TV Talk)

Hey, it's July!  My goodness, that snuck up on me.  I like July; it is full of birthdays!  (oh, no one's in particular)  ;-)  And just like my hair used to turn green every summer because of the chlorine in our pool, Sunshine's paws now have these lovely emerald highlights from racing happily through the grass every day.

TV Shout-Out! Now I'm Wicked Famous! ;-)

So I was at the UPS Store yesterday, mailing a whole bunch of packages (because it takes me forever to do anything that involves leaving the house and, you know, pants), and the guy behind the counter looked at my stack of thick envelopes, nodded sagely, and asked: "College applications?"

Update Update!

Apparently someone thinks we should just be watching the Today show all the time (kind of deviously clever, actually), because One Day They Might Mention BEARS!  But today is not that day, sadly; the new news is that Vicky's appearance has been moved to Monday.  Monday!

A Plea for Seahorse-Giraffe Peace in Our Time

OK, now REALLY set your DVR's!  Vicky's Today show appearance about Seekers will be on this Friday instead.  So we're told...fingers crossed!  And the book is #3 again on this week's New York Times bestseller list, so YAY!  Bears are taking over the world!  Someone warn Stephen Colbert!

Update!

Don't worry!  You didn't miss it!  Vicky's appearance on the Today show has been postponed until next Friday, June 20th.  Apparently Al Roker had to go do something else (WHAT), but fingers crossed, it should still be happening next week.  Sorry about the postponement...tsk, tsk, the vagaries of morning TV!  :-)

EXPLODING BEARS!!! (Ew, not literally, gross.)

Set your DVR's!!!!!!!!!!!!!  I promised to give you a heads up, and here it is!

Actual Writer-y Talk, Plus Some Thoughts on Pants

Today I would like to bring you a blog full of wisdom and sage writerly advice, but I'm afraid all I can think about is why the jeans industry hates me.  I know, don't you want to hear all about it?  ;-)

BEARS! Yaaayyy BEARS!

Excitement!  Excitement!  Excitement!

All We Need Is An Author Who Likes Sequins and Spray Tans

Oh, man.  My heart aches after watching the last two episodes of The Wire season 4.  I feel like I did at the end of Buffy season 5, when I was heartbroken all summer (what?  this doesn't happen to everyone?) and it seemed like nothing else on TV could possibly measure up.  And I have to wait about that long, too, because season 5 of The Wire won't be out on DVD until AUGUST!  ROOO!  I maybe should have timed this better.  Hmmm.

Owls and Tuis are Not Morning Birds

Whew.

I’m back!  I spent the week in New York and New Jersey, talked to eight different groups of kids and met (er, sort of) about 300 ridiculously smart, awesome readers (especially you. Yes, you. You were the smartest.).  :-)

Dragons! Palaces! Topiary!

Oh my goodness, May sweeps is here, and my TV is totally alarmed.  WHAT are we supposed to do when Dancing with the Stars, Gossip Girl, How I Met Your Mother, and Bones are ALL ON at the SAME TIME?  This is some kind of crazy TV cruelty, I tell you.  Especially with Dawn (Michelle Trachtenberg) appearing on Gossip Girl!  And Barney and Robin finally hooking up on How I Met Your Mother!!  So much awesomeness at once!
